Set number 18 – Something urban, maybe.

I have a lot of set combinations and choices over on my Polyvore account and it happens once or twice that I make a post here about a set I’ve made months ago. It’s just how inspiration works … Sometimes you get incredibly inspired and create tons of great sets at the same time, but there come moments when you work and create but nothing you love comes out of it. I currently have a stop moment at my inspiration, that’s why I prefer using styles I’ve created some time ago, but I still love – than sets I’ve created days ago, but I’m not “obsessed” with.
The only problem with these sets is the fact that many items are already sold out. However, I believe many of you don’t read my posts, because you’d want to buy items. So, in a way, we are good! 🙂
Another dilemma I had is the fact that I wasn’t sure what title should I give to this set. I named it “something urban, maybe”. It does remind me of a specific woman in the acting and music industry. I love her style (it reminds of vintage a bit, too) and I can assure you I was inspired by her outfits when I was making this set. Maybe it’s not 100% Bethany Joy Lenz, but I see her in this creation nonetheless.

My favorite item in this set is the purely white top. It’s hard for me to find tops/shirts I like or would consider buying. Many items are either too baggy or too short or simply not my style. This top is gorgeous. Yes, the cleavage is bold, but it’s mature at the same time and you can cover it with a bra as you can cover it (or distract people from it) with a nice necklace.

I always prefer wearing skirts over dresses or jeans. I am not a girly kind of a person, though, so I usually wear darker and longer skirts. The length of this skirt is what worries me, too. It’s not ideal and with a short top, it can come off a bit too revealing. Women normally style long and high waisted items with shorter tops. But I’ve made the decision to use a (let’s say) colourful and kind-of-vintage skirt and I am sticking with that.

The shoes are where I see the most of Bethany Joy Lenz. I also like the fact that I didn’t try to match these high heels with the skirt, because everything would be blue and white (without the bag and the hat, I mean) and that would be way too dreamy.

Because of the top’s cleavage, I added a two layered necklace. I love these kind of necklaces and this one pairs up nicely with the skirt. Then I wanted to add a hat and a bag. With that, the style has this kind of a “street” touch. It doesn’t look too formal. It’d be nice to add rings and other jewelry to it and just smoothen the tough edge that this style has.

Red Carpet: Emmy Awards 2015

Hello everybody! I will be doing a veeeery quick recap of this year’s Emmys red carpet looks. I will probably publish another fashion post later on today (or tomorrow for sure), so I won’t focus on the length of this post, as I will focus on pictures. Enjoy this post and tell me your opinions.

1. We saw a lot of dark outfits this year, many celebrities were aiming at elegance. Here are a couple of those DARK outfits that were my favorite. Let’s start right away.

I adore Amy Poehler‘s youthful look made by Michael Kors SO MUCH.

Next on – Felicity Huffman who didn’t look at all like a “desperate housewife” (like her character Lynette). Instead, she looked absolutely gorgeous.

                                     Another elegant look – Julia Louis Dreyfus

Julie Bowen, known as Claire Dunphy from Modern family looked exactly that. Modern.

2. Next in the order of business are beautiful colourful outfits. Let’s talk about my favorites.

I love the fact that January Jones (on the left) captured that country look on the red carpet, while still looking quite elegant. The green colour is a bold one, but it suits her beautifully.
On the other hand – Emma Roberts (on the right) used the colour that goes best with her skin tone. She is a pale beauty and the dress shows that even better.

3. Every now and then celebrities love being original and covered in patterns. There is only ONE look I loved.

4. Every red carpet has looks we are not sure about. We like them, but at the same time they haven’t grown onto us as our favorite looks. Here are mine.

James Carden and Julia Carey, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Brooks in her bright colours and Sophie Turner in a combination of black&blue. Each and every look has the potential, but hasn’t made onto my list of favorites.

5. Shiny, shiny.
There are two shiny looks that I really liked and they deserve being mentioned in this post.

6. Now I have to end this post in style. Here are my first and second favorite outfits of the whole red carpet. Ready?
The second place of the best dressed celebrity of the entire red carpet goes to Joanne Froggatt. I adore the pink and black combination on the elegant, but playful look.
BEST DRESSED LADY OF THE EVENT IS SARAH HYLAND. This is my number one favorite outfit of the entire red carpet. Sarah looked mature and elegant, but still young and beautiful.

Set number 17 – Older and new.

I feel as if I love the “old fashioned” looks every day more. If I could shop the FRIENDS clothing from Monica and Rachel, I would honestly do that. (If anyone off the team has those clothes, please message me :P)
I like modern fashion as well. I like being dressed by trends from time to time. But sometimes, all those trends just give you a headache … Crop tops that cover only the minimum – baggy clothes that make you look twice as big, on the other hand … And then there is modern fashion I cannot afford OR FIND in simple shops … That sucks as well. Either way, bottom line is that my fashion sense is created with both trendy and “older” items. Just looking at the set, we could say that the top and the skirt are trendy, whereas the shoes and the sunglasses somehow remind of the 90s. This set is then a mix of both fashions. “Older and new.”

I love tops with bare shoulders! They somehow bring the formal site of fashion. This top is indeed simple – no patterns, black … But it is so sophisticated and beautiful. Another good side of these kind of tops is the fact that you can combine them with beautiful necklaces and not overdo the look in the mean time.

Every now and then I include a pencil skirt in my set. Honestly … I have no regrets. I wouldn’t even regret it if I used a pencil skirt in every set. I’ve said before – I love the length of these kind of skirts, because it’s just appropriate. I love the cut – how they make your booty pop, but your legs slim. If there is a simple pattern on the skirt, it’s a “must”. Every woman should own this and every woman should rock it.

I didn’t say it yet, but I love every single item in this set. If I had to choose the favorite one, though, it would be the shoes. I always love when women wear these kind of shoes in the 90s movies and TV shows and now they are coming back to fashion! I need them. And I will buy them.

The same thing is happening with round sunglasses. They used to be incredibly popular, now they are making a come back in vintage and rock fashion. Sooner or later, everyone will be wearing them and the 90s fashion will slowly start to return.

Last in the line: we gotta pick accessories. Use rings, necklaces, bracelets … A golden simple necklace would go perfect with that bare shoulders top.
Because I wanted to add some colour to the set, I picked this beautiful bag created in Italy with a blue-green colour.
It’s just as sophisticated as every other item
that I picked up for this set.

Set number 16 – Smooth criminal.

This is one of my absolutely favorite creations ever. It’s a killer set. It’s a smooth criminal set. We’ve got everything that I love. An item with a pattern, badass black shoes, a nice skirt and a top that brings some life and colour into the style. Would I wear it? Yes. Every day. Every time of the day, until I got a fever, because it’d be too cold for such a look.

Red is one of my favorite colours. It’s easy to style. You can mix it up with black, white, blue … This top brings that kind of a positive energy into the look and it’s just overall amazing. I love how it has a touch of a different time. It’s not exactly a top we can find in any simple shop. It’s not overly complicated, but the cut on the shoulders is made beautifully. It’s modern and edgy and also beautiful.
Speaking of favorite things, this top is my favorite item in this set.

I guess I love adding shirts to tops. It reminds me of a rock style, even if the outfit is not purely black and rock ‘n’ roll. I did notice the fact that the outfit would be even better if I added a similiar jacket instead of this shirt. But the shirt does bring some casualness and sometimes that’s a better aim. Nobody wants to look overly dressed for simple situations.

I presented a very similiar skirt to this one just in a previous set! But still – you can see they are not the same.
This item, too, brings me a feeling of a different time. Do you remember Rachel Green (Friends) rocking a skirt with an asymmetrical cut? It’s coming back, it’s getting popular again and it still looks cool.

You can be dressed as gorgeous as possible, but if you are not wearing badass shoes, you just destroyed your whole image. I don’t make the rules 😛
That’s why I added another item that is kinda rock ‘n’ roll, kinda really edgy, but pure and pretty at the same time. Sometimes it’s a better idea to style sandals (or any shoes that are not “closed”) with skirts, but I guess a right fashionista can pull anything off 😉 The question is … Do you dare?

Set number 15 – I’ll rock your world.

It’s always exciting to watch the feedback after you’ve published a set on Polyvore. Sometimes you love a set and your followers don’t, or it’s exactly the opposite way. It’s always obvious what kind of styles a group of people prefers, though. I’ve noticed everyone loves a pure, rock style. If you match a skirt with a rock jacket, some nice shoes and a bag as an accessory, everyone suddenly goes crazy. Do I resent them? Not at all!
All black, rock look is my absolutely favorite as well. If I could, I would ONLY wear outfits as this one. It’s sexy, hot, kind of “dangerous” … And it’s a safe choice at the same time, because you don’t have to try too hard with matching items up.

My absolutely favorite item in this set is the beautiful skirt. I love that special cut that makes the skirt look more interesting and even more appealing. I think the length of the skirt is just right. We don’t want to show too much skin, but this is revealing and hidden at the same time. It’s full of dignity.

I’ve said before I have major hots for the platform shoes. The thing is, high heels are great for any woman, because they will make us look slimmer. However, they often tend to be a little too … girl-ish? (If that even makes sense.) A beautiful woman can look badass in any high heels, don’t get me wrong. But platform shoes will make us look slim and not overly girly. A right woman can kick ass in high heels too, but kicking ass in platform shoes sounds a lot more comfortable … and cooler 😉

Next deal of order – I gotta tell you, you can arrest me of constantly styling cool skirts with badass jackets. I am guilty. I think I’ve collected that idea from Jesy Nelson (Little Mix) and Demi Lovato. They have (or had) those phases of wearing badass rock style. You don’t have to own a motorcycle, because I believe you must be riding one if you own such a cool jacket.

You will be noticeable in a style like this, that’s for sure. But you can blend in at the same time, especially with this simple top. I love the revealing shoulders and the simple colour of grey. We could change the top for something black, so the style can be in the “all black” mode. But I thought about the fact that grey is almost as “neutral” as black is. By having grey in this set, we open this style up for a little bit, but it’s still really laid down, because we haven’t included any red, blue or other colours.

At the end, all that is left to do is to add accessories. Necklaces (a choker, for an example), bracelets and rings are incredibly popular with rock style. You can add those or/and a bag, sunglasses, a hat, some badass red lipstick … Whatever it is that sounds good to you.

Red Carpet: VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2015

We were up watching VMAs this Sunday. It’s always fun to dig up red carpet looks after awards. Let’s start with couple of outfits that were my FAVORITE ones!
Best dressed:

1. Lily Aldridge

We know her as a Victoria Secret model, so it’s no secret (see what I did there) that she has a crazy body figure. She showed that body off in a dark gown by Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture. Even with a serious look on her face, she looked as gorgeous as a woman can get.

2. Arielle Vandenberg
American actress Arielle showed up in a turquoise dress. Can we all agree she looks like a beautiful mermaid? The length of the dress is rather appropriate and her styling looks good, too. I really like her hair, it just looks free and not overly done. She could have added a necklace to that look, because of the cut of the dress, but that could have made the look a little bit overdone for a Video music awards.

3. Laura Marano
An American actress and singer arrived to the red carpet wearing the Victoria Beckham No. 8 Dress with the pair of Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals and a Louis Vuitton Louise Clutch purse. She looked sophisticated and feminine with a “safe” colour of black that truly brought her on my list of best dressed.

4. Vanessa Hudgens

We all know the beautiful Vanessa, an actress and a singer. She wore a Naeem Khan gown that brought the bohemian spirit to the red carpet. Anyone who follows Vanessa, knows that bohemian is totally her style and I am glad she expressed herself on an event such as this, as well. Can we agree she looks like a princess? I think we can.

5. Tori Kelly

I have to be honest, I am a huge fan of Tori. She’s been a youtuber, covering songs of famous artists and now she is starting her own career by being a professional singer. I love the fact that she didn’t try to be too formal, as there is a huge line between events such as Grammy and events as VMA. She mixed together two patterns and showed up to the red carpet looking gorgeous. She rocked with some serious leg game in Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.

6. Kourtney Kardashian
A TV personality (and possibly a fashion launcher/designer?). It’s easy to admit that I am not one of the people who are “Keeping up with Kardashians”. However, I truly think Kourtney looked gorgeous in this pink jumpsuit – Balmain Resort 2015 Look 22.

7. Katie Stevens
This American actress and singer popped on the red carpet looking ready for Grammys, not Video music awards! She looked so (!) stunning in the dress by Yousef Aljasmi.

There were, of course, a couple of outfits I wasn’t a fan of … 

I especially feel as if Britney Spears needs to move on … She is not as young or as fit as she used to be. She is still a pretty woman, don’t get me wrong! But sometimes it’s nice to dress based on what looks good on us. Short dresses that show this much skin just don’t look good on her. If she wore gowns more appropriate for a woman that she is, she could possibly rock the red carpet.

Here are also more outfits that I really liked, even if they didn’t come up as high as my favorites.
