Red Carpet: Teen Choice Awards 2015

Uh la la! Since I am not such a huge fan of the music that is popular nowadays, I don’t get excited over awards because of the live performances. However, I get incredibly excited about red carpet (or this time BLUE carpet) looks. Sexy, cute, funny, unbelievable … It’s all there.

Okay, how gorgeous is Emma Roberts? White is such a pure colour and we all know how popular patterns are. She looks so cute and the dress fits her perfectly. I also love the shoulder touch of this dress too!

If my memory is right, Lucy Hale likes wearing patterns with roses quite a lot. I am not obsessed of the pattern, but the dress is overall edgy and, yes – her style.
I think she couldn’t have picked a better red/blue carpet look, because she is one of the rare women that can pull it off.

Nina Dobrev … The first look is off the Teen Choice Awards 2015. I am not going to lie, something about that look reminds me of Hannah Montana. Is it the pattern? Yeah, I guess so. Looking at right – Nina Dobrev’s look for the People Choice Awards 2014 just says that she can do so much better. She is a gorgeous woman and she has a gorgeous style, but this year she just didn’t win my heart personally.

On the other hand, Lea Michele always wins my heart. She is quite known of wearing short dresses with a wavy end. Why not? She can pull it off. She looks so incredibly cute and girly!

Victoria Justice. This is not my personal style, but the dress is both formal and fun. That is what makes me love it. It’s something totally special, her shoes are matched up and bottom line – her style is nearly flawless.

Zendaya makes me feel a little skeptical. I am deeeeply in love with that skirt, shoes are fancy, but the top is a little … Too fluffy for me. I also wish her hair was styled differently, as she is a beautiful girl naturally, with her hair down. I would also maybe use a necklace with this top (because of its cut), but … Even though I am not obsessed with her choices and I would fix the styling a bit, I still love this outfit on her. She is sexy for sure.

Little Mix were … Special for sure, haha! If you are a fan, you know they used these outfits in their new video Black Magic. They were promoting their track, which I find charming. I also respect the fact that girls clearly have some balls, popping at a red/blue carpet dressed like that! They are having fun, why not?! They are all incredibly beautiful women, though. So a part of me still wishes they pulled on their formal dresses, as I am sure they would quickly be a part of best dressed celebrities of the event.

I really like Janel Parrish‘s look! It’s another of an edgy style. Not anyone can pull it off and not everyone wants to. But she is so pretty and I even like the whole styling (apart from the purse, even though it brings the look some colour).

Would you look at that, of all the looks that I have written about, none of them were a man’s! Oooops. Richard Brancatisano looks amazing. His style seems like he is wearing tons of designers. Bottom line, he probably really is 😀

Jenn McAllister (left) looks so girly and beautiful! Another pure, white choice. I am a little skeptical about that lace, but it does honestly suit her. There’s Peyton List on our right. Can I just say how this is 100% my style? The only thing I am not sure of is her styled hair, but that outfit is definitely one of my favorites (shoes included!)

Conclusion: a lot of celebrities were nicely dressed (even a couple I didn’t talk about here) and every red carpet has some bad styling choices as well (I will not talk about those).

Set number 14 – Flower world.

It’s a new set and it contains flowers! I am a huge fan of patterns, although I normally prefer squares and dots. I tend to stay away from patterns with roses and butterflies, but even though this top contains a pattern with roses, I actually like it. If you’ve been following the rest of my posts, you know by now that my favorite way of matching up is using the colour of the shirt (which is both blue and white this time around) in other items, such as skirts and shoes – which I actually did here. We don’t want to be all matchy-matchy in our outfit, that’s why I decided to use both blue and white. The skirt contains the colour white, whereas the shoes contain the blue. In the context of the top, it doesn’t look overly done and overly matched up.

It’s going to be the first time that I don’t have a favorite item in a set I have built myself. I am a darker person. I prefer longer skirts, tops with sleeves, platform shoes, badass jackets and anything that contains my favorite clothing colour – black. However, sometimes you don’t want to create something you would wear yourself and you create a style that is nice, even though it is not your style.
I guess you could say I wanted to add the style some joy as well, so I included the colour pink. Pink is such a girly and happy colour. Blue was always considered more of a “boyish” colour. Some shades of blue seem a bit serious, dreamy, whereas the pink is always such a jumpy and bright colour. These sunglasses and the purse give the set some kind of a “street style” vibe. We instantly look more business-like.

It’s always fun adding different accessories – jewelry for an example. I wouldn’t overreact with it (I normally don’t, especially if items include patterns or if a style includes enough of colour on its own). However … We all know that rings, bracelets and necklaces are always a nice touch.
Like I’ve said, I wouldn’t include a necklace in this particular style, just because the top is interesting enough on its own.

Set number 13 – Impossible to get away from.

If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you’ll be able to notice that there is one pattern it’s impossible for me to get away from. I love including this black and white square pattern in pants, tops, blouses… I don’t want to repeat myself constantly and I want to deliver fresh and original sets and ideas, however, this pattern is definitely included in the definition of my personal style, that’s why you’ll be seeing even more of it!
Looking at this set, I notice it includes both items I would wear and wouldn’t wear in my free time.

My favorite item of this set are the shoes. I am a little sceptical of the heel, as I prefer platforms and thick (or full) heels that are – of course, more stable. However, I LOVE this colour. It’s both bright and gentle at the same time. We need to get out of our comforts and wear colours that aren’t as popular. Different shades are starting to be modern and are in general gorgeous. This shade brings the life to the black and white.

My second favorite item is the skirt.
This kind of a design is incredibly popular these days and it somehow reminds of the 90s. I can see Rachel Green (FRIENDS) wearing this skirt. I love vintage items, as I still believe that fashion (for the ordinary and not high society) used to look better.

The cleavage of this top is a little misfortunate. If you are a little bolder, I definitely recommend wearing it. The cut maybe isn’t a safe choice, but you can add a beautiful necklace to hide it a bit and wear a blouse over it (just like I styled) as well. The top itself is beautiful to me.

At the end, I only added the blouse to cover the top and a bag to add some colour. If you are fortunate, you can try to find the same shade of blue for shoes and the bag. I was trying to do that at first, but then I remembered that the set contains a lot of black, so matching up the blue … That could bring up to the boring scale. That’s why I used a lighter shade of blue for the bag.

Like I’ve mentioned before, adding a simple necklace would add the cherry to the cake.

Set number 12 – Unusual and not expected.

It’s interesting how styles change with years. When I was younger, I swore to the “traditional” ways of dressing. For an example: if you want to go formal, you go formal all the way. It was the same with the casual style. You either wear jeans and sneakers or fansy trousers and high heels. Matching different styles sounded like a nigtmare to me.
But then, with years … I learned that being creative and original is what matters when you are tailoring your own special style. Anything you’d like to match together, can look good. Even if the public normally doesn’t accept those standards and even if it’s accepted as something “weird” and unusual.
This is what this style is to everyone who swears to the traditional dressing, then. Unusual and not expected.
I am normally not such a fan of jeans in general, let alone “BOYFRIEND” jeans. I believe they are quite comfortable (more than skinny jeans can be, anyway), but I never liked the shape they have.  I was also a firm believer that these cuts on the jeans make you look … disordered. However, fashion taste can change, unusual items get popular and styling items that normally aren’t as pretty with fansy items makes the whole look wealthier. That’s why I decided not to style these jeans with sneakers.

My favorite item of this set is the top. It contains a beautiful pattern, bare shoulders and it still somehow keeps the simplicity we sometimes want to achieve. The only “fear” I have while styling this top with the jeans is that the belly might be showing. Normally, it’s better to style tops with jeans that have a high waist, so a) you don’t look too tall with the showing belly (which often happens to taller people) AND b) you don’t feel uncomfortable.

Being traditional can be boring. That’s why adding high heels to not-so-fansy jeans sounds perfect to me. To brigthen the style up, I also used a red bag. We can experiment with the colours: brighten the heels, hide the colour of the bag … Whatever suits you is OK. I usualy like matching up shoes and the top, so that explains my decision.

Well, lovelies, that is all. You can add necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings … I wouldn’t complicate with those accessories too much, maybe just add a choker to the beautiful top.

Set number 11 – Stiffness in casualness

Stiffness in casualness. If you think about it, this set is exactly that. If I replaced the high heels with a pair of sneakers, fashion sunglasses with a pair of regular glasses, … It would look a bit more casual. However, this way we have elements of both stiffness and casualness and it’s styled perfectly.

I surprised my own self. Normally, I would style this top with a pair of either white or light blue trousers. Skirts would work, as well. I like the “boring” and “traditional” matching. I was never a fan of too many colours working together, even though those can be styled beautifully as well. However, I did style it with a black colour, so I haven’t taken such a huge step ahead … 😀

My favorite item is the skirt. I like the fact that it’s a bit of a “see through” at the bottom. It brings the youth to the item itself. With this kind of length, if we used the whole material without the see through, it could come off as stiff. This way, we are feminine (since the skirt isn’t short), but not stiff.

Since the style is quite dark (without the top), we could experiment a bit more with the shoes. I was thinking about adding either white or gentle blue high heels(I know, that typical styling AGAIN …). If you are more daring, you can use red, purple … If I decided to pick a “daring” colour, it would have been a gentle and soft one, considering the shade of the top. These shoes are a bit in between both black and dark blue, so even though I styled this whole style myself, I would have changed that.

Now we add accessories. Just because of the pattern on the top, I wouldn’t add any necklaces. A bracelet? Maybe.
I added a purse and gentle pink sunglasses. You know me, though. If I can add a hat, I WILL add a hat.
Bottom line, I like what I styled.

Set number 10 – What a casual look!

Being a creator is a fun thing, because sometimes you might create something you wouldn’t necessarily wear, but the colours go well together, everything is somehow linked to a certain style and items click. That is what happened with today’s set. It’s not the type of style I would wear for this and that reason, but it’s something I created and I think it’s not a bad thing nonetheless.

My favorite item in this set is the purse. The colour is a little too bright for my personal style, butit connects well with the pattern on the pants (we can notice the bright blue among many other colours). This is the kind of matching I love to do. I pick up a pattern of a certain item and then I match another item with one of the colours, present on the pattern.

I prefer heels and platforms, but these sandals work for this kind of a style. When it comes to the colour of the shoes – plain black, I just wanted to play the safe bet, since the bag is the one item that brightens the set and makes it more alive.

Looking at the next item, it looks like a black plain shirt. It could easily become boring. But the bare shoulders are the ones that make the shirt look more playful and younger. And I absolutely love shirts with bare shoulders.
You could add a necklace to it as well, to spice up the look! (I personally love adding bracelets to these kind of shirts).

It’s no secret that I love hats, so this set includes one as well. What can you do?

On the other hand … The one and only item that I simply don’t like, no matter how I would try to style them, are the pants. They are way too casual for my kind of style.
However … When it comes to this set – the boho kind of a style, the casualness is exactly the one thing that we want to be present. It’s simply not uptight and too formal, but comfortable and easy.
