Playing with styling: Black with a pinch of colour

It’s no secret that I love wearing black … I feel comfortable when I am wrapped up in my dark, hidden clothes. However, sometimes I am not in the mood to rock an all-black outfit and I’d prefer using a pinch of colour instead. I love making outfits that seem like they are fully dark, but then there’s a twist.
celozaslonski-zajem-27-10-2016-183105-bmpThe thing about black is that people often think it looks too strict, even boring sometimes and “too” badass, like you haven’t slept in a year and you’re ready to kick ass at any given moment. This outfit truly lets you know that blackness isn’t all about the element of rock … Black can be girly and lovable as well. The bare-shoulders top is so easy going and free … We can style a pretty necklace next to it. The pattern at the end of the skirt is so great. It feels vintage and pretty. And then there’s a pinch of blue when you wear those high heels … It brings the outfit to another level. It’s not an “angry, teenager” look. It’s a feminine and beautiful one.

celozaslonski-zajem-27-10-2016-183100-bmpI’ve used more of the “teenager” vibe in this second ooutfit – it’s less … Formal. Just because everybody needs an every-day look. These kind of scarfs got incredibly popular in a short amount of time and I simply love them. They are nothing too special, but they give a statement. The skirt could have been tailored a bit prettier, I think, but it’s OK that it doesn’t look like it will stick to your skin too much. I like the heels, too, they compliment the scarf and all together this is “black with a pinch of colour”.

Which set do you prefer and would you consider wearing these style options? Let me know in the comments and don’t forget to follow my blog for a follow back! 🙂

OOTD: Hopeful

HOPEFUL

I’ve actually experimented with this set quite a lot, because I have tons of saved items on Polyvore and I wanted to incorporate some of them in an outfit. This was the result. My most favorite thing is that this has a soul of a rocker – it’s black, the skirt is badass, the purse is something special. And yet the colour of the top and the colour of the heels give this whole outfit a feminine energy and some sense of life. I always pair up the shoes with one of the colours that are present with any of the other items. Because the top is so beautifully colorful, I really wanted to include either blue, red, purple or green. And the red high heels always suit so well with a rock vibe, so I really didn’t have to overthink it. The top is defined as a “sports bra”, but I really like the whole idea of it and I think it doesn’t have a loud sporty vibe, so I just decided to use it nonetheless. The coat has some kind of an Asian vibe to me … I can see an Asian styled woman wearing this with a “half bun”, I think that’d look amazing. The skirt is almost too short for my personal taste, but the coat is long enough to cover the skirt and what-else, so I think it’s a combination that works.

Sure, the items are quite expensive, but don’t forget that you can always take out the idea of an outfit and create a less expensive one. When I make the outfits, I don’t plan on wearing them in real life, so I don’t like being tied up with ideas. What do you think of this outfit, do you find it wearable or would you have to change couple of things? Playing with styling: A top with lines

My favorite column on my blog is “playing with styling”, because it really points out the fact that you can wear one item in millions of ways. You can create badass and girly combinations, casual and formal ones, colorful and neutral ones … Nothing will stop you.

8bad745756d6f016a683b6fd5f68b3e8.jpgThis time, I am creating with a top. I’m letting you know that upfront, so you can notice the different styling options a bit clearer.
Because of the lines and the design, we won’t be able to use this item for a very formal look. I could create it next to formal pants and an easy-going coat, but it wouldn’t be appropriate for work meetings, etc.

e57489752c0b788dbd3de3507ce3882e
This is really not my style, but I still love the combination, I can’t explain why. It just reminds me of an outfit you can wear when you go out – it’s pretty relaxed, but individual elements of the outfit make it look less casual. Like, the shoes, for an example. I love them! I love that detail on the front, it looks so incredibly expensive. Just because of the shoes, the entire outfit seems like an upgraded version of something that you would normally wear at home. You didn’t put too much effort into an outfit, but it still makes sense and you don’t look … “Tired”.
celozaslonski-zajem-2-10-2016-154531-bmp

I think these two outfits aren’t that different one from another, they seem like they suit into the same kind of a style, because neither of them is overly girly and colourful. However, the top still looks a lot different when you use it with different items. I really wanted to use a bright overall, because I didn’t want this outfit to be as dark as the first one. I’d love using brighter shoes too, but these popped onto my feed first and I just decided to use them 😀 If you add jewellry, you’ll pop the outfit even more. If you ask me, I think that both looks are casual and have elements of rock, but they also seem a bit feminine and definitely not too casual.

OOTD: Feels like a kick in the teeth

Feels like a kick in the teeth

The reason I love this outfit so much is that it seems like the most comfy outfit I have ever created. The straps of the top give you a summer, beach-y vibe. The blackness brings the fashionista feeling. These pants have been trending couple of years now. The holes are modern, the colour is fresh and once and for all – women that aren’t model-like-thin can in fact feel comfortable in something. What a miracle. The high heels are the only item that bring this whole outfit to a higher level. If you don’t feel like wearing them, you can change them for a pair of flats and you’ll have an outfit for a very easy walk. Both works, I’d say.

Playing with styling: Scarf season

After the longest time ever, I have two outfits for you that fit beautifully into a collection!

I jucelozaslonski-zajem-26-09-2016-194533-bmpst love how these items match. I know it’s probably a bit old fashioned – only matching up two colours, because experimenting and being bold is becoming more popular. But, listen, I have to be loyal to my style. Adding a scarf to a bare shoulders top is the easiest fashion trick, because that way you cover the skin a bit, but it’s still sexy and appealing. Every classy woman should go for that statement; not boring, but not slutty. I love the sleeves of the top, they seem fun and easygoing. Tight items are more flattering, but this way we can still breathe! I’ve also said before that I think every woman should own a pencil skirt. They are the most fitting item a woman with a nice body figure can wear. And least but not last are the shoes that seem classy and simple.

celozaslonski-zajem-26-09-2016-194552-bmpHere we have another outfit where I have used a scarf next to a “bare shoulders” top. I truly think they fit best this way. I love the top – bare shoulders are my favorite fashion trend at the moment – and the colour and all of the details are great, too. That cleavage kind of flows on a similiar way that the sleeves did in the first outfit! The pants are great. Sure, they can come off as stiff and – let’s admit, women normally wear these to work … But, I think they are just as fitting to a woman’s figure as a pencil skirt is and I’ll always support these simple, black pants. Beside … The top is interesting enough, so we can go quieter with the pants.

The first outfit is more girly and energizing, whereas the second outfit is dark. It’s something for everyone, based on your style, I think 😀 Which set do you prefer?

OOTD: Quicksand

Quicksand

I don’t know why, but the outfits that I have created lately on my Polyvore account seem different than what I usually do! Maybe you’ll disagree 😀 I created this just a week ago and I love the combination of the grey, white, black and blue. I think it’s an interesting one. I love the top, but I have to admit the fabric doesn’t seem that appealing. The skirt seems like something your grandma might knit for you, only it still seems fresh and modern. It’s a Japanese design and I think it does have that kind of a vibe, Japanese people have stunning fashion pieces. My most favorite item, though, must be the shoes. I don’t usually go crazy about shiny stuff, they just seem overly girly and that’s not my style. However, these shoes look like something a woman might wear to a dance and she’ll look like a princess while having a lot of fun. It seems like the kind of shoes cinderella might wear if that makes sense. I love the straps that help give such a feeling. I think the outfit is a lot of everything put together – different fabrics, colours, styles and occassions to wear the items to … But to me, it works. What do you think?

Red carpet: Emmys 2016 favorite looks

Hello guys! I promised I’d post a red carpet post dedicated to Emmys, didn’t I? This day is coming to an end (almost) in my country, but it takes time to go through all of the moments and the looks 😛

amy-landeckerkerry-washington
I absolutely love Amy Landecker‘s (left) look. Because of the colours, the material, the design itself and the patterns, the dress looks youtful and girly. I would have changed the upper part of the dress, but I think it looks great on her. Kerry Washington (right) rocked the preggo look, she is going to be one of the prettiest new mommys!

terrence-howard-and-mira-pakviola-davis
Terrence Howard and Mira Pak didn’t work too hard to match up, that’s obvious, but I love Mira’s dress! It might look a bit like a prom dress, but she looks like a princess in it and the flowy lower bottom of the dress is constructed amazingly. She resembles Naya Rivera a bit in this picture! Viola Davis (right) became one of my favorite women in the industry, I have a lot of respect for her and I love her choice! I haven’t seen her in bright dresses that often, so this makes me excited. Pink suits her so well and she also looks like a princess.

portia-doubledayolivia-culpo
Portia Doubleday (left) could have went with a paler/less bold colour for a dress, because she is very pale herself and nude would look amazing on her, I am sure of that. However, red suits her too and she is gorgeous as ever. I love how Olivia Culpo (right) didn’t play it safe. We haven’t seen anybody wearing a dress like that, but it’s one of my favorite picks. The colours work so well together.

constance-wuemmy-rossum
Constance Wu‘s look (left) is probably my favorite look of the night. I don’t know where to start. It has all of my favorite colours, it’s not boring at all, the cleavage is just right, it flows right at the bottom and, the most important thing … She rocks it. Not everyone can pull off a dress like this, but she succeeded. Emmy Rossum (right) looked angelic in white. I love the black colour, but sadly it has become the boring choice at red carpets … White is working it way better and she knew that. The dress point out her body figure beautifully.

rami-malekrami-male2k
The one thing you might not know about me is that I am a huge fan of Mr. Robot (have been since the very beginning, may I point out) and Rami Malek is one of my favorite celebrities right now. He is such a humble, kind guy. The role he has in the show is incredibly complexed, but he does it with such ease. I loved his boyish black and white combination and he won the Emmy for the best actor in drama, which makes me incredibly happy! That was the best part of the awards.

Here are some of the looks that aren’t my favorite, but they almost made it …

shiri-applebykristen-bell
I very much respect the bold choice of the colour that Shiri Appleby (left) used. Kristen Bell (right) probably had a lot of fun in this dress, but it doesn’t exactly seem like red carpet material to me.

tori-kellysarah-hyland
I love Tori Kelly (left) and I think she looks absolutely gorgeous, but the upper part of the dress seems a bit clumsy, as if it doesn’t fit her right. When I saw Sarah Hyland‘s choice (right) for the first time, I hated it, but it quickly grew on me. I appreaciate the fact that it’s something new, it suits her well, but it’s yet again not exactly red carpet material to me. I love how it flows, though.

kate-mckinnonemilia-clarke
Kate McKinnon (left) won me over with the red colour, I am a sucker for red. But … It seems too plain and the bottom part could have fit her better. Emilia Clarke (right) is a gorgeous woman and she rocks the nude colour, but something is missing for me, I don’t quite know what it is … Maybe a necklace or a different upper part of the dress.

Well … With 700 words, I am about to say goodbye! I have yet to see the awards, but the red carpet was one of the better ones, everybody looked beautiful. I also have to congratulate to all of the new Emmy “keepers”.

OOTD: Lions

Hi guys! I am sorry for being unactive for such a long time, but I lose a lot of productivity as school starts (aka I use the productivity for other stuff), so it takes a lot more effort for me to actually make good/any posts. Here I am now though, let’s start with another Polyvore set, shall we?

LionsI’ve created this piece just days ago and I have to admit I’d wear it in real life if I got hands on these cool items. I love the vintage touch of the denim jacket and the simplicity of the black top. We could easily add a necklace with it if we wanted to spice the outfit up. You probably know by now that long skirts a
re my favorites, but I like them tight! I don’t like skinny jeans, because I have big thighs and I feel like I might as well die in them, they’re so uncomfortable for me … But I love when a black skirt fits you well, points out your figure (aka that great ass :P) and you immediately feel so much more feminine and prettier. For a touch of colour, I had to use these gorgeous red heels. Chances are you won’t even see them, they might get covered by the skirt, but they’re an important part of the outfit nonetheless. The bag and the hat close the outfit up. This feels like rock, girliness and feminism all together and I really do love it.What do you think of it, would you wear this or what are the items that you would change?

Also, remember! The Emmys are this weekend (2 am Monday for my Slovenian friends, isn’t that great …?) and I will definitely have a red carpet post for you ready soon!

Take care,
Tamara

Sunday’s five favorites

Hi guys! I normally have a “Friday’s five favorites” column, but this week was totally crazy, so I didn’t have any time for a post. I’ve decided not to skip it, though, because I love giving shoutouts to pretty clothing, so here is a post anyway.

Celozaslonski zajem 4. 09. 2016 115829.bmpMy number one pick is the Vampire Mouth Crop Top. The reason I love it so much is because of the rock vibe it has. I love rock clothing. I wouldn’t call myself a rocker exactly, but I’d say I have a sense of one if that makes sense! The pink and the black work beautifully together. If there’d be no motive, the top would look plain and boring, but this way it couldn’t be more perfect. You can get one at Sandysshop for only 8,87€ aka 9,90$.

Karl Lagerfeld K/Kocktail Karl pouch is sadly moreCelozaslonski zajem 4. 09. 2016 120506.bmp.jpg expensive (at the cost of 135€), but there’s something about it that pulls me closer. The colours work beautifully together, the entire design is well thought and the “sunglasses” give it a cool vibe. If you go in with a simple, all-blue outfit, this purse will make it pop. You can buy it here.

Celozaslonski zajem 4. 09. 2016 120918.bmp.jpgI’m sadly (yet) not going back to less expensive items, because this Roland Mouret Tabley mini dress costs 830€ (and that is the REDUCED price, may I say). I won’t lie, I personally think it’s not worth the money at all. It’s worth of making a cheaper copy, though 😛 I love how the waist is coloured with black, because that will make you look thinner for sure, yet the dress is grey. The length is perfect, but he upper part of the dress is my favorite.

Celozaslonski zajem 4. 09. 2016 121447.bmp.jpgWe have to be careful while wearing this Dorothy Perkins mini skirt, because the motive could look like a tablecloth. However … I love the whiteness, the innocence of the skirt and while there isn’t much going on, it’s still not boring. It has a girly vibe, yet it has the potential to make your figure pop in all the ways you want to. It costs 49€, which isn’t expensive, but like I’ve said … The motive makes me a bit sceptical.

Celozaslonski zajem 4. 09. 2016 122155.bmp
I’m finishing off with Black point Suede flats that are now reduced to only 17€ (you better get them quickly!). I think they have a minor technical issue … My personal opinion is that the covered space should be a bit smaller in order for the shoes to look more appealing. However, I love the fact that they are black and flat, plus they have the feminine ankle strap. Awesome!

Red carpet: VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS 2016

Hi guys! It’s time for another red carpet post, which makes me excited, because those posts are my favorite ones. I already watched the entire show and I’ve picked couple of red carpet outfits I liked, but I have to say this red carpet wasn’t my favorite. The looks aren’t horrible, I’ve gathered tons of mediocre, nice looks, but … I didn’t find even one that would make me go “wow!”. Anyway … Let’s just begin.

bHOLLAND RODEN
Tinashe (left) actually resembles Eva Longoria a bit in this picture. I like her make up and I like the “scarf” detail around her neck, plus the colour of the dress is awesome. The dress is a bit baggy, but it suits her thin figure. Holland Roden‘s look (right) disappointed a bit, just because she has a gorgeous figure and this … Coat? It ruins it for her. If she went with a killer ponytail and a jumpsuit, she’d look bombastic! I like the angelic vibe of the white, but this is such a waste …
zara-larsson-mtv-vma-red-carpet-2016-billboard-1240Winnie Harlow
Zara Larsson (left) looked gorgeous, I love the job that her make-up and hair stylists did, because it suits her. I cherish the fact that the dress isn’t flat and boring. It has some avangarde elements, but I admit I wouldn’t wear it myself. I also think she could have picked prettier pair of shoes, but I like the ankle strap. Winnie Harlow (right) looked just as gorgeous. I like the fact that the dress has two different parts – upper and lower. I wish the colour of the dress was different, but at the same time black is the safe choice, so at least she tried something different. I love her hair!

naomi cambellNaomi Campbell arrives in the press room at MTV Awards
The left dress that Naomi Campbell wore on the red carpet is pretty, but it’s also mediocre. The right dress is the dress that she wore on the actual awards before she presented Rihanna’s performance and it suits her so much better. That should have been her original look. Too bad it wasn’t.

Liliana VazquezHALSEY
The outfit that Lilliana Vazquez is wearing is something I’d consider wearing myself. It’s very my style. However, I wouldn’t pick it for a red carpet look. Sure, this is not the Grammys or the Oscars, so you don’t want to overdress yourself, but she still could have upgraded the original look. If she just added a  diamond necklace and put her hair in a bum, it would have already looked a lot different. The material of Halsey’s (right) jumpsuit bothers my eye. If she fixed that, it could have been a bombastic look. I like her hair and make-up, though.

HAILEY BALDWINgettyimages-597563258
Halsey Baldwin (left) was easily the prettiest woman of the night. Her hair suits her so well! The jumpsuit, on the other hand … Let’s say I see the idea and it suits her. The fact that I’d never wear that kind of a material doesn’t matter, because it’s not my outfit. Ariana Grande (right) always has girly and cute outfits. I would have extended the top, but other than that, I like her outfit. And the ponytail is gorgeous!

HAILEE STEINFELDCarly Aquilin
I noticed that I liked most of the hair and make-up styling, which means the beauty stylists did a kick-ass job, when the fashion stylist obviously disappointed me, because I keep on trying to fix the outfits 😛 Hailee Steinfeld‘s (left) short dress looks good on her, because she has long legs. I also cherish the bold move to use a bunch of colours. I love the lower part of the dress, but the upper one and the sleeves aren’t my personal style. Carly Aquilino’s (right) decision to use a nude colour was awesome. It’s great for her skin tone. I also once again have to congratulate the beauty stylists, this hair colour is absolutely magical and suits her way better than the red one.

Celozaslonski zajem 29. 08. 2016 170639.bmpCelozaslonski zajem 29. 08. 2016 170646.bmp
Beyonce … She was the star of the night. I’m incredibly glad she won so many awards, her performance was on fire and the Beyonce/Blue Ivy date just makes our hearts melt. That’s that. I had to let that out.

gettyimages-5975629642015 MTV Video Music Awards - Red Carpet
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, then you know how much I roasted Britney Spear‘s red carpet look last year (right). That’s why I have to admit that she looks gorgeous this year (left). The dress is her style, but it fits her well and it’s quiet and ladylike. She looks a lot better this year. Kuddos to her. Also, her performance was quite OK.

That’s all about the red carpet … Nobody really vowed me, but it wasn’t the worst red carpet ever.
The show itself … Let’s say the hosts were incredibly annoying, but I liked all of the performances and I am happy about 80% of the wins. Rihanna especilly slayed with her last performance of the show (Stay/Diamons/Love on the brain mash-up) and did you know she performed four times all together? They really wanted to make her feel special.

rihanna-drake-vmas
The one that made her feel ESPECIALLY special was Drake with his touching speech for her Vanguard award. It was beautiful.

That’s … That. Which outfits were your favorite, which performance slayed your life and what are your thoughts all in all? Let me know in the comments 😉
